LIC Market Plus Investment Returns

I want to invest Rs. Lakhs. I was told that LIC Market Plus scheme would give me about 25% returns. Is this true and should I invest in this LIC policy?

25% is some unheard of returns. Unless your agent is some magician. LIC Market Plus is a Unit Linked plan – which is linked to the market and hence there is no guarantee. All depends on the market condition and the plans into which LIC Market Plus is invested. You should conservatively assume about 9%-10% returns and plan ahead. There are different options available in the plan. If you choose ‘annuity with return of purchase price’ option, your nominee will get the purchase price in the event of your death.

I think 12% annual return on investment is a reasonable assumption.
