Swine Flu Vaccine Side Effects: H1N1 Virus Vaccination Reactions
A vaccine for Swine Flu is not available yet. Researchers and experts say the earliest they will be available will be in November 2009. India has recorded about 62 deaths so far in the last 3 weeks since the H1N1 virus claimed its first victim in Pune.
As of now, Tamiflu is the only drug that is being used to combat the flu virus. The vaccine, once it becomes available later this year, may help curtail the outbreak a great deal.
Clinical trial are underway in the US since early August and there are no side effects for this H1N1 virus vaccine reported until now. The vaccine is administered as any other flu shot. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which is overseeing the clinical trials have mentioned some soreness in the arm taking the shot were observed, but that was just a normal reacton to any flu shot and nothing specific to the swine flu virus vaccine.
Swine Flu vaccine trials were first conducted on adults, then on children once there were no indications of any serious side effects. The vaccination for H1N1 for pregnant women have not been conducted yet. They will probably be starting with that early next month.

I think people are now reconciled to the fact that the h1n1 virus is like most other common diseases. At least the media has stopped jumping up and down about this for a while now. The way panic was spread a month ago, it almost looked like an entire city could be wiped out due to swine flu. But somehow it looks like the disease did not spread as rapidly as was feared in the beginning. I hope the vaccines for h1n1 are in place sooner than later. It is also reported that the swine flu h1n1 virus spreads quickly during the colder and darker seasons. with winter just around the corner, I hope preemptive steps are take to avoid another outbreak that could shut the cities down like it did a month ago.
